Ren is so in love with Nice that it makes him want to die. His best friend, the king of his heart.

Nice is smooth like a pane of glass—transparent and barely there. Beautiful and illusory.

They take off on a road trip after Nice’s mom dies. Nice wanted to go alone, but Ren would do anything for him. Run away from home, drop out of school. Listen on the floor of some other guy’s living room, to the sounds of what might be Nice kissing in the hall.

He didn’t, right? Did he? It’s hard to tell.

But Ren would do anything for him. A little bit of pain, or a lot, is still anything.
